What is the YouTube Video Frame Grabber?

Pausing a video and taking a screenshot gives you a blurry picture with buttons on top. This tool grabs the real frame from the video, in full size (up to 1080p), with nothing covering it.

Move the slider or type a time like 1:23.5, step forward or back by a second, and grab as many frames as you like. Save them one by one or all together as a ZIP.

How to use it

  1. Paste the video link and press Open video.
  2. Move the slider or type the time you want.
  3. Press Grab this frame, then Save.

Frequently asked questions

Why does it sometimes say "preview sheets"?
If YouTube does not share the video stream with us, we use its small preview pictures (the ones you see when you hover over the time bar). They are smaller, up to 320 × 180.
Does it download the video?
No. Only the parts needed to show the frame you ask for are loaded.
Does it work for private or age-restricted videos?
No. We only read public videos. Private, members-only and age-restricted videos need a YouTube login.
Can I use these images anywhere?
Thumbnails, banners and frames belong to the channel owner. Use them for your own reference, reviews or with permission, and give credit.
