DPDP Act notice

India's Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023 (the DPDP Act) gives you control over your personal data. This page tells you, in simple words, what we do and what you can ask us.

Last updated: 7 October 2026

Infographic: your six rights under the DPDP Act: know, correct, erase, withdraw consent, complain and nominate someone.

1. Who we are

ToolPoint (toolpoint.in) decides why and how the small amount of personal data on this site is used. In the DPDP Act this makes us the Data Fiduciary. You are the Data Principal, the person the data is about.

You can reach us at hello@toolpoint.in.

2. What personal data we process

We keep this list very short on purpose. ToolPoint has no sign up and no login for visitors, except for the Space Planner, which needs a free sign-in with Google.

3. What we do not do

  • We do not sell, rent or trade your personal data.
  • We do not use advertising or tracking cookies of our own. Google Analytics counts visits. See the Cookie Policy for details and how to say no.
  • We do not build profiles of you or track what you do across other websites.
  • We do not ask for bank details, government ID numbers or passwords. Please do not send them to us.

We use your data only for the purposes in the table above. When you use a tool or send us an email, you agree to this limited use. You can withdraw your consent at any time by writing to us. Withdrawing is as easy as giving it. If you withdraw, we will stop using your data and delete it, unless the law says we must keep it.

This notice is in English. If you would like it in another Indian language, write to us and we will try our best to share it.

5. Your rights as a Data Principal

  • Right to know. Ask for a summary of the personal data we hold about you and what we do with it.
  • Right to correct and update. Ask us to fix data that is wrong or out of date.
  • Right to erase. Ask us to delete your personal data when you no longer want us to keep it.
  • Right to withdraw consent. Stop us from using your data, at any time.
  • Right to grievance redressal. Complain to us if you are not happy, and get an answer.
  • Right to nominate. Name another person who can use these rights for you if you die or cannot act for yourself.

To use any right, email hello@toolpoint.in with the subject DPDP request. Tell us what you want and which email address or IP address and date relate to you, so we can find the data. We will confirm that we got your message within 3 working days and finish the work within 30 days.

Your duties under the Act are simple: give true information, do not file a false or pointless complaint, and do not pretend to be someone else.

6. Children

The DPDP Act treats anyone under 18 as a child. ToolPoint is a general tool site and we do not knowingly process personal data of children. We do not track or monitor children and we never show them targeted ads. If you are a parent and think your child sent us personal data, write to us and we will delete it.

7. How we keep data safe

  • The site works over a secure (HTTPS) connection.
  • We keep the smallest amount of data for the shortest time.
  • Only the site team can see technical logs and emails.
  • If a personal data breach ever happens, we will tell the Data Protection Board of India and the people affected, as the law requires.

8. Who else sees your data

Only the company that hosts our server, and only to run the site for us. We share data with the government or a court only when the law clearly asks us to. Our servers may be in or outside India. The DPDP Act allows this unless the Central Government has restricted a country.

9. Grievance officer and complaints

Grievance Officer, ToolPoint
Email: hello@toolpoint.in

Please write to us first. We take every complaint seriously. If we do not solve your problem, you can complain to the Data Protection Board of India, as explained in the Act.

10. Changes to this notice

If we change how we use personal data, we will update this page and the date at the top. Please also read our Privacy Policy and Cookie Policy.
