What is the SVG Optimizer & Minifier?

SVG files from design tools carry a lot of extra data: comments, editor settings, long numbers and empty groups. This tool removes it and shortens the rest, often cutting the file size by half, without changing how it looks.

You choose what to remove, and how many decimals to keep in numbers. A live preview and the before and after sizes show you the result. Everything runs in your browser.

How to use it

  1. Paste your SVG code, or open an .svg file.
  2. Tick what to remove and set the number precision.
  3. Check the preview, then copy or save the smaller SVG.

Frequently asked questions

How do I reduce the size of an SVG?
Paste it here and keep the defaults. The smaller SVG is shown on the right with the saved percent.
Will my SVG look different?
It should look the same. If it does not, raise the number precision to 3 or 4, since rounding too much can bend small shapes.
What does precision mean?
It is the number of digits after the decimal point. 2 is a good balance. Lower is smaller, but less exact.
Is this like SVGO?
It does the most useful steps of SVGO in your browser. For a whole project, use SVGO in your build.
