What is the Government Exam Age Eligibility Calculator?

Every government job notice, like SSC, UPSC, Railways, Banks or state PSCs, gives a minimum and maximum age, counted on a fixed cutoff date. Reserved categories get extra years, called age relaxation.

Enter your date of birth, category and the rules from the notice. We show your exact age on the cutoff date, your personal upper age limit after relaxation, whether you are eligible, and the "born between" dates that the notice usually mentions.

How to use it

  1. Enter your date of birth and category.
  2. Tick PwBD and add any other relaxation if it applies to you.
  3. From the official notice, enter the cutoff date, minimum and maximum age.
  4. See if you are eligible and the allowed birth date range.

Frequently asked questions

How much age relaxation do OBC, SC and ST get?
For most Central Government jobs: OBC (non-creamy layer) 3 years, SC and ST 5 years. PwBD candidates get 10 more years (13 for OBC, 15 for SC/ST).
What does "not more than 27 years" mean?
You must not have completed 28 years on the cutoff date. A person aged 27 years and 11 months is still eligible.
Does EWS get age relaxation?
Not in most Central Government exams. Some state exams give EWS relaxation, so check your notice.
Are the rules the same for every exam?
No. Always read the official notification. Some exams also limit the number of attempts, which this tool does not check.
