Frequently asked questions

How does it count sentences?
It looks for a full stop, question mark, exclamation mark or the Hindi danda (।) at the end of a sentence. Short forms like Mr., Dr. and Rs. and numbers like 49.50 are not counted as sentence ends.
How is reading time worked out?
We use 200 words a minute for reading and 130 words a minute for speaking. These are average speeds.
Does it count words in Hindi?
Yes. Words in Hindi and other languages are counted. The reading ease score is made for English, so treat it as a guide only.
Is my text saved?
Your text stays in your browser. We keep a copy in your own browser storage so it is there when you come back, and we never get it.
