What is the ROT13 Encoder & Decoder?

ROT13 moves each letter 13 places in the alphabet. Because the alphabet has 26 letters, doing it twice brings you back to the start. That means one tool both encodes and decodes.

You can also try ROT5 for digits, ROT18 for letters and digits, and ROT47 for letters, digits and most signs. ROT13 is used to hide spoilers and puzzle answers, not for security.

How to use it

  1. Type or paste your text in the left box.
  2. Pick ROT13, ROT5, ROT18 or ROT47.
  3. Copy the result. Run it again to get your text back.
