What is the Dataset Downloader?
Open data portals like data.gov, data.gov.uk and many city and state portals share free datasets. Each dataset page can have many files in different formats, and some are only listed through the portal's system.
This tool understands the two most common portal systems, CKAN and Socrata. It asks the portal for the full list of files, with names, formats, sizes and dates. For other sites, it scans the page for dataset links. Then download all files as a ZIP, or one format only.
How to use it
- Open the dataset page on the open data portal and copy its address.
