What is the Sentence Case Converter?

Sentence case is how we write normal paragraphs: only the first word of each sentence and the word "I" start with a capital letter. This tool fixes text that was typed all in capitals or all in small letters.

It finds the end of each sentence by looking for a full stop, question mark, exclamation mark or a new line. Short forms like "Dr." and "Rs." are handled with care.

How to use it

  1. Type or paste your text in the left box.
  2. The result shows on the right as you type. Each sentence starts with a capital.
  3. Press Copy or Save to take the text away.

Frequently asked questions

What is sentence case?
It is the normal way of writing: a capital letter at the start of each sentence, and small letters everywhere else except names.
Will it capitalize names like Rahul or Delhi?
No. A tool cannot know every name. It changes only the first letter of each sentence, so fix names by hand after.
Can I use it for headings?
Yes. Many style guides use sentence case for headings. For older style headings use our Title Case tool.
