What is the Mandi Patti / Farmer Settlement Calculator?

After selling at the mandi, a farmer gets a patti (settlement slip) from the arhtiya or trader. It shows the weight, rate and all the cuts. Checking it line by line protects you from mistakes.

Enter the kanta weight, number of bags, empty bag weight, moisture or dust cut and the rate. Then add deductions like commission, market fee, hamali, tulai, stitching, transport and any advance you took. You get the net amount payable and a neat patti you can print.

What is a mandi patti?
It is the bill or settlement given to the farmer after sale, showing weight, rate, deductions and final payment. In some states it is called J-form or sale receipt.
How much should the bag weight cut be?
It should equal the real weight of an empty bag, usually 0.5 to 1 kg for jute bags and less for plastic bags.
Can the trader cut commission from me?
Rules differ by state. In many mandis the buyer pays commission. Ask your mandi committee if unsure.
